BANDUNG-Human trafficking is a modern form of slavery and the most profitable compared with other organised transnational crime. The culprit was the multi-layered, performed by a variety of groups large and small, even by members of his own family.

Hence, Chairman of Integrated Service Centre for Empowerment of Women and Children (P2TP2A) West Java Province Netty Heryawan express its concern at the Meeting of Technical Development Cooperation Network in Prevention Handling of Victims of Trafficking and Violence against Women and Children in 10 Provincial Members of Mitra Praja Utama (MPU) 2016 in Mason Pine Kota Baru Parahyangan, on Tuesday (26/04/16).

Human Trafficking, is a human commodity bought and abused repeatedly to increase profit margins, unlike disposable drug runs out.

This is due to the vulnerability of the family, education, culture, early marriage, power relations, perspectives of children, shifting values and poverty.

"It was realised together with the persistence of the challenges facing such understanding and awareness which is still low, stakeholders commitment uneven, support resources are limited, coordination and cooperation across sectors is still low, enforcement needs to be improved and the unavailability of a unified data about TPPO,” she explained.

"The principle of treatment should refer to the interests of the victims and the key word is synergy, cooperation from upstream to downstream to be entered into the various parties to prevent and promotive and curative and rehabilitative efforts,” said Netty.

Things can be done by us together is to do the development and improvement of networks with service providers in every province, their preparation/strengthening/renewal of the MoU between provinces, the budget provision sharing between provinces services, contact persons clarity
    as stipulated in the MoU.

"And with a hard line in the handling of transit/destination which refers tp SPM and optimisation of public/community/association of Sunda in various regions/provinces,” Netty said.

Technical Coordination Meeting Members of Mitra Praja Utama (MPU) 2016 was attended by West Java, East Java, East Nusa Tenggara, Jakarta, Yogyakarta and Banten. Coordination Meeting held for two days from 25-26 April 2016 and opened by the Provincial Secretary of West Java.
