ABU DHABI - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil believes the realization of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) investment in Indonesia, especially West Java, is getting bigger in the future.
This optimism arose during an official visit to accompany the Indonesian Maritime and Investment Coordinating Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan to Abu Dhabi, UAE. West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil took advantage of this business momentum by attracting investment in the energy, industry, agriculture, property and tourism sectors to West Java.
According to him, West Java as one of the centers of manufacturing and tourism in Indonesia, has great potential to attract investors. For this reason, the Central Government and West Java Provincial Government have proactively picked up investors to invest in Indonesia and especially in West Java.
"Because West Java has two keys, manufacturing and tourism. Those are our two advantages where there is potential for the development of tourism we pursue, where there is development of manufacturing we also pursue, both are present, "he told the West Java Public Relations Team from the meeting location in Abu Dhabi, Sunday (12/15/19) local time .
According to him in the talks in Abu Dhabi, investors were more talkative and interested in discussing the two big potentials.
"Both of them proved their conversation (in Abu Dhabi) about it and most of its locations were in West Java," Emil said - his nickname.
In the same place, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Indonesian Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan explained that the process of negotiating the UAE investment in Indonesia had been going on for 6 months. Today's meeting is a follow-up meeting to finalize the draft agreement which according to the plan will be signed before Indonesian President Joko Widodo during his working visit to Abu Dhabi on January 13, 2020.
"This is too good to be true, because after six months we worked, the results turned out well. For example with ADNOC, Mubadala, and Pertamina, the progress was very good. Whether it's progress in Balongan, in Balikpapan, it all seems to be producing results. We hope that some of the projects will be signed on January 13, 2020 witnessed by President Jokowi and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi, "he said.
The Coordinating Minister Luhut also ensured that his party requested that UAE investors be able to add to the floating solar power plant (PLTS) development plan especially in West Java.
Previously, the developer of renewable energy from the UAE, Masdar, had the privilege to work on a floating PVP project, aka the floating PV power plant in the Cirata Reservoir, Purwakarta.
"So, in the place of Mr. Ridwan Kamil, the Governor, which is 145 MW in the form of floating energy, I think it is working. Yes not too big. But earlier the governor was asked to make it in Saguling, Jatigede and Jatiluhur lakes, so that it could be hundreds of mega watts. But not just the amount. That proves that Indonesia is very pro on green energy, "Luhut added.
