BEKASI REGENCY - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil accompanied Indonesian President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II Elevated toll road in Kab. Bekasi, Thursday (12/12/19). The 38 kilometer elevated toll road that runs from Cikunir-Cikampek can only be used by the public this weekend and is free at least until the New Year.
"Alhamdulillah, the Japek toll road has been completed and can soon be utilized, while it will be free until the new year," said Joko Widodo.
"Many complaints to me if through traffic jams can take hours. We hope that the traffic jams that we feel every day can be reduced by 30 percent. Moreover, there will also be Jabodetabek LRT and the Jakarta-Bandung fast train in 2021," he added.
The President also appreciated the work on the Japek II Elevated toll road, which he considered to be very complicated because it was built on running traffic. Meanwhile, around the Japek II Elevated toll road, two other large projects were built, namely the Jabodetabek LRT and the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train.
"I appreciate it because I know the process is very complicated because there are 200 thousand vehicles every day underneath that must continue to run," he said.
At present the percentage of traffic on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road for class 1 or private vehicles is 80 percent. While the group 2,3,4,5 or heavy vehicles as much as 20 percent. For the Japek II Elevated toll road, the entrance is in Cikunir and the exit is in Karawang, and vice versa.
One of the important features in this toll road is the eight emergency U-Turns because there will be no toll exit. Then, there are two emergency exit brakes and four emergency parking bays which will be completed in February 2020. For the safety and comfort of the rider, this toll road is also equipped with CCTV, towing vehicles, and ambulances.
The investment for the Japek II Elevated toll road project is Rp 16.23 trillion. There are two shareholders, namely PT Jasa Marga (80 percent) and Private Business Entities (20 percent). Meanwhile, the construction was carried out by PT Waskita Karya and PT Acset Indonusa. And there are six thousand foundations, 22 portals, 826 pillars and 120 meters of domestic production box girders.
