BANDUNG- Towards the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) Transport Period 2019/2020, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) conducted inspections to various regions in Java, from 10 to 12 December 2019., with checks starting from the readiness of the lines, stations, services, to HR.
KAI Managing Director Edi Sukmoro said, this inspection activity was to ensure the readiness of KAI before the peak season at Christmas and New Year, for 18 days from 19 December 2019 to 5 January 2020.
"Checks are carried out starting from the readiness of the lines, stations, services, to HR. I ask all KAI employees to provide the best service to the community, especially during this Nataru moment, "he said.
According to Edi, in that period, KAI predicted that there would be an increase in the volume of train passengers to 5.9 million passengers, an increase of 4 percent compared to 2018, which was 5.6 million passengers.
"In order to accommodate the surge in passengers, KAI will run 374 Regular Trains and 30 Nataru Trains or a total of 404 Train Trips, up 2% compared to 2018 of 394 Trains," Eddy said to reporters at Bandung Station on Tuesday (12/10).
The inspection trip was divided into two trips, crossing north and south on the island of Java. Inspections across Java northward start from Gambir Station to Cirebon, Semarang Tawang, Surabaya Gubeng, Jember, to Ketapang, Banyuwangi. While for the southern route, the journey starts from Bandung Station to Kroya, Purwokerto, Yogyakarta, Madiun, Malang, to Surabaya Gubeng. (Parno)
