KPK Commemorates World Anti-Corruption Day 2019 by holding a Government Digital Media Festival

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission or the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is holding the 2019 Government Digital Media Festival at the Red and White House, Monday (9/12). The festival takes the form of seminars and group discussions attended by the Indonesian Public Relations and Communication and Information Agency, which ends on Tuesday (10/12).

KPK Deputy Chairman Laode M Syarif opened the festival and the discussion presented two speakers. Namely Inspector General of Communication and Information Doddy Setiadi and social activist Wicaksono known as Ndoro Kakung.

In his remarks Laode said that the PR or the Department of Communication and Information should now be able to optimize the use of digital media for the transformation of services to the public more effectively.

"Public Relations or the Office of Communication and Information become the face of government, including in the regions. So the KPK public relations themselves are very careful in managing social media and websites. Websites must provide fast and precise information according to the needs of the community, even we want websites in several languages, not just Indonesian language. Many of the website readers are from abroad, "he explained.

He acknowledged that the challenges of managing the state media were much more difficult than before the rise of social media. So that managers, especially public relations and the Office of Communication and Information Technology must continue to improve its HR capacity. Because managing social media is far more complicated than the mainstream media. Because social media can find and make their own news and at will spread it.

"Hoaks appear a lot, this is the task of the government to immediately set them straight," concluded Laode.

The event was attended by more than 100 people who are digital media managers in local governments throughout Indonesia. Jo
