    The Package Of Economic Policy

    JAKARTA - As a respond to the run down of world economic that impact to national economic, President Joko Widodo released various package of economic policy. There are three main point in this government policy that expected to be able injected new blood for the sluggish national economy.

    The first one is to develop a conducive macro-economic. Second is to drive the national economy, and the last is to protect low-income society and drive the rural economy.

    For the first stage, government launched a package of policy that focus on drive the national economy, and called also as package of economic policy. Through this package, the government has taken various stages, which are deregulation, de-bureaucratization, law enforcement, and business certainty. The primary goal is to encourage the competitiveness of national industries.

    The second stage is accelerate the national strategic projects by eliminate various barriers, such as complicated licensing, completed the spatial and land supply, accelerating the procurement of government goods and ser-vices, discretion in resolving obstacles and legal protection, and supporting the regional heads to implement the acceleration of national strategic projects without having to fear will be discriminated.

    The third stage is increase the investment in property sector by release a policy that encourage the construction of housing, especially for the low-income society.

    So, what is the form of deregulation that would be implemented? The first is to rationalise the regulations by eliminating the duplication between ministries. After the process of rationalisation and the duplication is clear, naturally the synchronisation between the regulations and the objective that want to be achieved will happened. Finally, The regulations will be run consistently.

    There are 98 regulations that need to changed to eliminate duplication, strengthen coherence and consistency and also cut out regulations that hamper national industry competitiveness. Deregulation is started simultaneously throughout the K / L from September to October.

    After arranging the regulation, in parallel the government also re-arrange bureaucratic rules or de-bureaucratization. By simplify the licensing such as the identity of the business/sharing profile, also cut the licensing requirements. To avoid the negotiation, the services process of licensing and non licensing is done through an electronic system and no longer face-to-face process. Then the government will enforce the law in order to create business certainty  to the investors who have invested in Indonesia. 

    The Government was determined to be committed to implement the package of economic policy. Even President, Vice President and the Minister lead the implementation directly.

    There are five sectors that will receive full attention in the first stage of the package of economic policy, which are industrial sector, the empowerment of cooperatives and UMKM, fishery, tourism, and trades.


    Through the stages that mentioned above, the government is confident that society will get benefit directly from the package of economic policy in each sectors. In the industrial sector for example, peoples will feel the more resilient and strong facing of global economic dynamics. So the industry will operate efficiently, with fully utilisation and high productivity to produce goods that can compete with imported goods and also able to make diversification of products and export markets.

    Meanwhile in the trade sector, some of benefit that will be felt soon by the wide society is the smoothness of trade as a result of deregulation so that the distribution of goods throughout Indonesia will be smoother and also improve industrial and exports competitiveness.

    Supply chain efficiencies in this sector will also solve the shortages in many remote areas. The gap in prices, and inflation will also decrease which mean it will open up employment opportunities even more. (Team PKP - Kemenkominfo)
