BANDUNG- The Indonesian Armed Forces host the annual XX 2019 ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting (ACAMM) event which was held at the Trans Luxury Hotel, Bandung, on Monday (25/11).
Head of the Army Information Service (Kadispenad), Brigadier General Candra Wijaya said, ACAMM is an event to strengthen the commitment of military cooperation between 10 countries in ASEAN.
"The ACAMM Forum to maintain the spirit of brotherhood and is expected to be a milestone in the progress of the defense field of the nations of Southeast Asia, towards mutual prosperity," he said.
Candra added, this meeting was also intended to formulate strategic steps to translate the commitment of the cooperation in a concrete form.
"Military cooperation established through ACAMM is projected to respond to the emerging global threats and challenges, especially in the ASEAN region," he said
According to Candra, several threats to watch out for include terrorism and radicalism, transnational crime, socio-political turmoil in various countries, and the potential for natural disasters in much of Southeast Asia.
"These threats have been a major obstacle to ASEAN's progress," he said.
ACAMM XX in 2019 raised the theme "Moving Forward Together - Promoting Collaboration between the Army towards ASEAN 2025" The motto raised was, "Together we can! Together We Can!" attended by Kasad General of the TNI Andika Perkasa and attended by Kasad and representatives of the ASEAN country delegations. And acted as the keynote speaker of the Republic of Indonesia's Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto.
After the opening ceremony, the agenda continued with a multilateral meeting agenda and the submission of ideas by the Asean Kasad, as well as a question and answer session and continued with a "hand over" (handover) host ACAMM 2020 from Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam.
Ten (10) Leaders of the Army (Kasad) of ASEAN countries present in ACAMM namely, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia as the host. (Parno)
