    Receiving Labor Hearings, Deputy Governor: West Java Provincial Government Trying to Give Justice

    BANDUNG CITY- Deputy Governor (Deputy Governor) of West Java (West Java) Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, received a hearing at the West Java Workers Alliance in Malabar Meeting Room Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Thursday (11/21/19).

    To the labor representatives from various West Java unions, Uu emphasized that the regents / mayors of 27 regions in West Java had submitted recommendations for setting the 2020 Regency / City Minimum Wage (UMK) increase to West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil.

    "What is conveyed by laborers, hopes and desires, we (the West Java Provincial Government) understand that. The necessities of life are indeed unavoidable. So there are several elements in order to improve the welfare of the community that we continue to formulate," Uu said.

    Meanwhile, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil has set the 2020 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) in effect from January 1 to come in the amount of Rp 1,810,351.36 through Governor's Decree Number 561 / Kep.1046-Yanbangsos / 2018 About the West Java UMP 2020.

    West Java 2020 UMP rose 8.51 percent from the previous year. The percentage increase in the UMP is in accordance with the direction of the central government.

    This UMP also becomes the basis for districts / cities to determine their MSEs in 2020. Uu added, MSEs at the district / city level must be higher than the UMP.

    "Before making a decision, we always carry out communication and coordination. The Regional Government of West Java Province will try to provide justice," said Uu.

    As for referring to the recommendations of the formulation through a circular of the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration, the largest UMK in West Java applies in Karawang Regency which is Rp 4,594,325.

    While the smallest recommended number of Rp 1,831,885 was given to the City of Banjar. So that on average, the UMK in West Java regencies / cities ranges from Rp 2,963,497.

    "All these government policies are always based on the partisanship of the people," said Uu ended.
