BANDUNG CITY- Indonesia is a democratic country which holds General Elections (Elections) to determine the people's elected regional heads.

In its implementation, the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) continues to strive to present better elections from year to year, including ahead of the simultaneous Regional Head Election in 2020 in eight districts / cities in West Java.

The Governor of West Java (West Java) Ridwan Kamil also supported the event 'Launching the Simultaneous Election of 2020 Elections in 8 Regencies / Cities in West Java Province' at the Trans Studio Amphitheater Bandung, Bandung City, Wednesday (11/20/2019).

The figure who is familiarly called Emil said, direct democracy is expected to be able to bring leaders in accordance with people's choices.

Just like himself, who is a product of direct democracy, Emil said the opportunity of the people's choice leaders to contribute to the nation was huge. "Democracy is a choice that has been chosen by us," he said.

Emil also believes that democracy is a gift for the Indonesian people. Because for a good leader, power is a tool to serve the nation and state.

Even so, Emil hopes there will be an improvement in the process of implementing democracy carried out with elections so that the government and related parties do not incur huge costs.

Emil said digital voting by India could be an example to cut logistical costs during the Election process in Indonesia.

In addition, Emil also stated the importance of holding a conducive election. In West Java alone, the implementation of the Presidential Election, Pileg, Pilgub, and district / municipal elections, always goes according to expectations without any significant disruption with increasing voter turnout.

West Java Bawaslu Chairman Abdullah Dahlan meanwhile said, the 'Launching the Simultaneous Election of 2020 Regional Election' event was a sign of West Java's readiness to hold simultaneous local elections in eight of its regions.

The eight regions namely Bandung Regency, Kab. Cianjur, Kab. Sukabumi, Kab. Karawang, Kab. Indramayu, Kab. Tasikmalaya, Kab. Pangandaran, and the City of Depok.

"Elections in West Java always run safely, smoothly, and democratically. We guard almost all stages of the Election until the aspects of Election law enforcement," Abdullah said.

He added, West Java Bawaslu always oversees the procedural implementation of elections with authority in aspects of prevention, supervision, prosecution, and court.

"Bawaslu strengthens methods and instruments, oversight related to political money. We are alert with preventing, watching, acting, and bringing to justice," Abdullah added.

As according to the Chairman of the West Java KPU Rifqi Ali Mubarok, 'Launching the Simultaneous Election of 2020 Election' at the same time becomes a way to socialize the simultaneous local elections next year in the eight regions.

Rifqi also hopes that the elections will run smoothly. Not to forget, West Java KPU appreciates the support of the provincial Bawaslu, also the regency / city Bawaslu together with the central, provincial, district / city government, as well as the TNI / Polri alignment that has succeeded in the 2019 Elections especially in West Java as the province with the largest population in the country.

"(Hopefully) in 2020 all stages can go well, smoothly, peacefully, and the elections can be fun, giving progress to each city / district," Rifqi concluded.
