BANDUNG - West Java Deputy Governor Uu Ruzhanul Ulum releases West Java contingent who will compete in the 15th 2019 National Student Sports Week (Popnas) and 2019 National Recreational Sports Festival (Fornas) at Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Monday (11 / 11/19).
For the 2019 Popnas event, Uu hopes that the West Java contingent can maintain the title of overall champion after in 2015 and 2017 topping the medal table. "We are determined to maintain the third overall title," Uu said.
Popnas 2019 itself competed 13 sports (sports) which will be held in two provinces, namely DKI Jakarta and West Java. The details, 10 sports were competed in DKI Jakarta and 3 other sports in Tanah Pasundan.
According to Uu, he was optimistic that the West Java contingent could win many medals. Moreover, the contingents of West Java have conducted training camps and participated in all the contested sports. "This effort is to improve quality in order to achieve maximum performance," he said.
The West Java contingent in Popnas 2019 consists of 211 athletes, 36 coaches, 13 medics, 13 sports people responsible, 21 supporters, and 39 contingent officials. "West Java must win in each of its sports," Uu said.
While Formas 2019 will be held in Samarinda, East Kalimantan. The West Java contingent will take part in 9 sports, such as breathing exercises, healthy heart exercises, BMX, and Indonesian cultural creations.
