West Java Governor: Asian Nations Ready to Welcome the Golden Future with Collaboration

WEST BANDUNG REGENCY - West Java (West Java) Governor Ridwan Kamil said that collaboration between countries in the Asian region must continue to be strengthened. According to him, concrete cooperation is needed so that Asian people are ready to welcome the future of gold.

"All are optimistic, the past is the age of Europe, now the age of America, but the future is the age of the Asian nation," Ridwan Kamil said while attending the opening ceremony of the 12th China-ASEAN Conference on People to People Friendship Organizations (CACPPFO) at the Mason Pine Hotel in Kota Baru Parahyangan, Kab. West Bandung, Monday (11/11/19).

The governor, who is often called Emil, added that the collaboration of ASEAN countries and China was also very relevant to the Dasasila Bandung, which was the 10-point outcome of the Asia-Africa Conference meeting held on April 18-25, 1955 in Bandung.

Emil also appreciated the 12th CACPPFO and was proud because the conference appointed West Java Province as the host. "I am very happy, because the ASEAN-China forum was held in West Java. They are very happy, because West Java has a history where Asian-African people also formulated collaboration in Bandung," he said.

"To quote Dasasila Bandung, one of them is the need for Asian nations to always prioritize collaboration," Emil added.

To optimize collaboration, Emil also hopes that the ASEAN-China nation continues to expand dialogue. In addition, Emil emphasized that the cooperation that was built must be fair trade and mutual benefit.

"We want to progress, prosper, (in a way) together," Emil said.

While to improve the quality of Human Resources (HR), this 12th CACPPFO involves Millennials and Generation Z. Emil reminded, this generation must prepare skills, lobbying capabilities, as well as digital literacy, and focus on the dynamic movement of the industry 4.0.

Chairperson of the China China Economic and Social Cultural Cooperation Institute, Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Sudrajat meanwhile said the conference, held every two years, was a collaborative step to agree on the cooperation between the people of Asia and China.

Among other things, cooperation in developing the economic field and strengthening the socio-culture. "That is the area we are discussing, so there must be a step of ongoing cooperation, both (through) expert exchanges, student exchanges, and others," said Sudrajat.

"We also welcome the connectivity between the Belt and Road Initiatives which is echoed by China and ASEAN (in) having a Master Plan on Asia Connectivity, so that they become a synergy between the two Asean and China groups," he said.

Sudrajat added that a more effective people-to-people relationship between ASEAN-China communities would strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation. He also hoped that the cooperation built would be transparent and free of corruption.

The 12th CACPPFO itself took place on 10-11 November 2019 with 91 representatives from 11 countries and hundreds of investors / entrepreneurs coming from home and abroad.
