BANDUNG-Bank Indonesia (BI) of West Java took the West Java Police to curb the existence of the foreign exchange (forex) without permits.
Head of BI West Java Rosmaya Hadi said the demolition should be taken to prevent misuse of counterfeit money.
"Who can guarantee that if exchange money at the money changer unlicensed the real money. If it found to be fake then public will lose," he said at the police headquarters in West Java on Tuesday (19/4).
He said that currently there are only 14 money changer in Bandung which has currency exchange point that authorised or licensed from BI.
"Currency exchange can be done in the shop or store directly. Well, our arrival to the Police for curbing this cooperation," he said.
He said this effort is also made to avoid efforts of money laundering from the owners of foreign currency or vice versa.
