BANDUNG CITY- The capital of West Java Province was chosen to host the 2019 World Zakat Forum (WZF) International Conference which was attended by more than 30 zakat management organizations from various parts of the world.

This international conference takes place from 5 to 7 November 2019 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Bandung and was officially opened by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Ma'ruf Amin on Tuesday (5/11/19).

The Acting (Acting) Regional Secretary (Sekda) of West Java Province (West Java) Daud Achmad welcomed representatives of the 2019 WZF International Conference participants in a Gala Dinner in the West Hall of the Gedung Sate Building in Bandung on Tuesday (11/5) night.

Representing West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, Daud appreciated the holding of the 2019 WZF International Conference and said that zakat is one of the solutions to alleviate poverty and balance social inequality in society.

"Zakat as an important instrument in economic progress and welfare of the people," said Daud.

Daud also said that the role of the zakat management agency was very helpful to the government, including the West Java Regional Government (Pemda) in overcoming the problem of poverty.

The reason, continued Daud, zakat management institutions are in line with social, educational, and health matters.

"The management of zakat as a formal institution that manages zakat funds is very helpful in dealing with the problem of poverty, the government cannot complete all of these roles without the participation of individual communities or partnership institutions including zakat managers," he added.

For this reason, Daud hopes that the meeting at the Gala Dinner will also open the way for the presence of an understanding of synergy and cooperation as zakat lovers so that the zakat management system can be better.

Meanwhile, WZF Secretary General who is the Chairperson of the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) Bambang Sudibyo said, the selection of the capital of West Java Province as the host of the 2019 WZF International Conference was the right decision.

"On behalf of the Chairman of the Central Baznas, I express my highest gratitude and appreciation to the Regional Government of West Java Province for providing support to the West Java Baznas, so that the West Java Baznas in our assessment includes Baznaz (level) provinces that are performing well in Indonesia," said Bambang.
