BANDUNG - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil will receive the title of Doctor Honoris Causa for Public Administration at Dong-A University, in Busan, South Korea, Monday (4/11/19) afternoon local time. The acceptance of this title began the Governor's official trip to South Korea and Japan, November 4-8, 2019.
Head of the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of Prov. West Java, Hermansyah, said besides receiving an honorary degree, a number of agenda meetings and the signing of the MoU had been scheduled.
"The meeting that was held in the two countries was to discuss cooperation in the fields of business, industry, vocational education, environment, SME development, and infrastructure investment," he explained in Bandung, Sunday (3/11/19).
Participating in and accompanying Emil - Ridwan Kamil's nickname - included the Chairman of the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) Dino Patti Djalal and West Java Chamber of Commerce.
"There is also a meeting that will discuss cooperation in the field of information technology based on internet of things (IoT) in terms of developing disaster management (disaster management) and smart city / province," he said.
There is one city in South Korea and four cities in Japan that will be the location of the governor's business meeting, namely Busan in South Korea; Tokyo, Shizuoka, Nara, and Osaka in Japan.
"Especially in Shizuoka, the Governor will witness the Signing of the MoU, the cooperation of the UNESCO Global Geopark between the Ciletuh Geopark and the Izu Peninsula Geopark," he said.
The governor is also scheduled to attend the 10th East Asia Local and Regional Government Congress - Day 2, in Nara, Japan on Thursday, November 7, 2019.
