PURWAKARTA REGENCY - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of West Java gives awards to the heads of cities and regencies who care and have innovations in handling waste through the 2019 Ecovillage Awards.
Among the recipients of the awards were the Regent of Bandung, Regent of Ciamis, Regent of Pangandaran and Regent of Bogor. In addition, awards at the 2019 Ecovillage Awards were also given to groups and communities, including the Ecovillage Waras Village District. Karawang and Ecovillage Cipta Kreatif, Kab. Bekasi.
The award certificate was handed over directly by West Java Deputy Governor Uu Ruzhanul Ulum in the peak event of commemoration of World Habitat Day and National World City Day 2019 which took place at Istora Jatiluhur Resort, Purwakarta Regency, Thursday (10/31).
According to the Deputy Governor, the award is a form of recognition of the West Java Provincial Government to cities and regencies that have innovated in the environment, especially in handling waste, which was then used as a pilot project to be applied to other regions.
"Innovations from cities / districts are used by the West Java Provincial Government, and this is our step to appreciate the work and services they have done for West Java," said the Deputy Governor, at Istora Jatiluhur Resort, Purwakarta Regency, Thursday (10/31).
The Deputy Governor asked other regions that had not yet received an award to keep on trying to innovate in handling waste, because if it was only done traditionally, then the problem of handling waste would not be over.
"Those who cannot get an award make innovation because if monotonous methods such as being thrown away and transported to be moved elsewhere will not be finished," he said. (Parno)
