    JIM Recommends Travel Destinations

    BANDUNG- As many as 2,500 runners from various countries will take part in the International Marathon (JIM) which will be held again and for 2019 it will be held on December 1 in Pangandaran Regency.

    The Governor of West Java, Mochamad Ridwan Kamil said, JIM 2019, is a sport tourism that can increase tourist destinations in West Java, especially in Pangandaran Regency.

    "Sport tourism and other tourism events can be a media to promote tourism in an area, including JIM 2019," the Governor said at a JIM 2019 press conference at the West Hall of Gedung Sate, Wednesday (10/30).

    According to the Governor, JIM strongly supports tourism especially the West Java Provincial Government is currently trying to make Pangandaran as a world-class tourist destination through the Special Economic Zones (KEK)

    "JIM is a tourism promotion in an innovative way, so running combined with tourism promotion. And why in Pangandaran? Because this is the belle of West Java in the development of tourism," he said.

    The governor is optimistic, tourist visits to Pangandaran will continue to increase if JIM is regularly held annually and running is the right way to explore the area which is a tourist spot.

    "Anyone who can hold an event for 5 times without stopping will have a long life, I'm sure this can double the tourist visit, because there are participants who bring their families because of this while traveling," he said.

    From JIM 2019 alone there will be 2,500 runners who will take part in JIM 2019 at this time, there are 1,015 runners, including those from Kenya, the United States and Australia, who registered. There are several categories in JIM 2019, namely 42K, 21K, 10K, 5K. The 2019 JIM route will cross tourist areas in Pangandaran. (Parno)
