BANDUNG - PTDI delivered 1 (one) unit of CN235-220 Military Transport aircraft to the Nepalese Army and today on 30 October 2019 a ferry flight was conducted from the PTDI Fixed Wing Hangar, Jl. Pajajaran No. 154 Bandung, heading for Kathmandu, Nepal planned to arrive on November 2, 2019.
PTDI's Managing Director, Elfien Goentoro, Deputy for Trade and Industry Coordination, Bambang Adi Winarso represented the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation and Electronics (ILMATE) Industries, Harjanto represented the Minister of Industry along with Senior Vice President I of the Export Financing Institution Indonesia (LPEI) or Indonesia Eximbank, Yadi Jaya Ruchandi was present to review the preparation and release of the CN235-220 Military Transport ferry flight which would then be operated by the Nepalese Army.
Capt. Esther Gayatri Saleh as a Test Pilot in Command and Flight Instructor (acting as Chief of the Mission), and Capt. Ervan Gustanto as a Copilot flew the CN235-220 aircraft from Husein Sastranegara Airport, Bandung to Medan, then continued to Yangon, Myanmar, then resumed back to Dhaka, Bangladesh and flew back to Kathmandu, Nepal as the final destination. The aircraft will carry out advanced Flight Training and Final Acceptance Flight by the Nepalese Army.
The signing of the procurement contract for 1 (one) unit of CN235-220 Military Transport aircraft was carried out on June 16, 2017 with the contract number MGO / Fixed Wing / 073/74/65 between PTDI and the Nepal Army.
The CN235-220 Military Transport aircraft export program for the Nepalese Army financing part of its working capital is funded by the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI) or Indonesia Eximbank with the National Interest Account (NIA) scheme.
The use of the NIA scheme from LPEI or Indonesia Eximbank is a special assignment from the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia to provide aircraft export financing, where LPEI or Indonesia Eximbank also supports PTDI in penetrating markets in Africa and South Asia.
