    WJIS 2019: West Java Provincial Government is Ready to Sign an MoU with 20 Investors


    BANDUNG CITY- In the five stages of the 'Vision of Indonesia' which was conveyed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Elected 2019-2024 Joko Widodo, the third stage stressed the importance of being open to investment in order to open jobs.

    In West Java Province (West Java), as many as 71,573 workers were absorbed through investment in Semester I 2019. The West Java Provincial Government (Pemdaprov) continues to maintain the title of the province with the largest population in Indonesia as the belle of investment in the country.

    Based on the information from the Office of Investment and One Stop Integrated Services (DPMPTSP) of West Java Province, West Java became the number one province with the highest investment value in Indonesia during 2012-2018 (except in 2017).

    DPMPTSP's Integrated Licensing for Public Services (SIMPATIK) Information System combined with Online Single Submission (OSS) is proof of easy administrative access for investors to invest in West Java.

    In addition, this year DPMPTSP in collaboration with the Bank Indonesia (BI) Provincial Representative Office (Kpw) of West Java Province held the 2019 West Java Investment Summit (WJIS) as a form of innovation and collaboration to provide a forum for the West Java Provincial Government and business actors and investors.

    In this first edition, WJIS 2019 (formerly a biennial agenda called the Investment Forum) was held on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Trans Luxury Hotel in Bandung with five main agendas namely High Level Session, Project Consultation, One-on-One Meeting, Market Sounding, and exhibition.

    In addition, there were the signing of various memorandum of understanding (MoU) on investment and trade with 20 investors, including those related to the West Java International Airport (BIJB) project, Pangandaran Special Economic Zone (KEK), Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM), to agribusiness.

    According to the Head of West Java Province DPMPTSP Dadang Mohamad Masoem, in addition to increasing investment, WJIS 2019 was held to retain existing entrepreneurs in West Java. Dadang also explained several factors that made investors feel at home investing in West Java.

    "So the first is Jabar's infrastructure which is relatively better than other provinces in Indonesia. Secondly, the social condition of West Java, its people are relatively more friendly to investors. The ease of investing is constantly being improved with an online system," said Dadang.

    "Until now, the most (investment) in the industrial sector. West Java has 25 industrial areas, there are no provinces that have that much. Especially with the KLIK (Ease of Direct Investment Construction) program from the president, so competing to West Java with convenience, "he added.

    While in the Project Consultation session, the Ciayumajakuning TPPAS, SPAM Bandung Raya, Kertajati Aerocity, Rebana Triangle, and KEK Lido, Cikidang, and Pangandaran projects will be discussed.

    Various booths will also be present to enliven the Exhibition, including from West Java Kadin, USA Chamber of Commerce, PT. BIJB, PT. Tirta Gemah Ripah, Jaswita Jabar, also the Association of Industrial Estates.

    As for the Market Sounding agenda, it will be explained about the TPPAS Legok Nangka, SPAM Jatigede, and Bandung Raya Monorail projects from related agencies.

    "The value of the Jatigede SPAM project is Rp2.3 trillion. The advantage is that the new dam is relatively faster to be worked on than other SPAMs. The dam is also bigger, so the facility encouragement is also adequate," said Dadang.

    "For the Legok Nangka TPPAS project, the project value is Rp3.4 trillion." he added.

    After the event started at 08:30 WIB continued with the opening ceremony, the Head of West Java Province Kpw BI Doni P. Joewono will give a speech at WJIS 2019 for the next event officially opened by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil at 09:40 WIB.

    The event continued with the agenda of signing the MoU, a keynote speech from BI Deputy Governor Rosmaya Hadi and the Head of the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Thomas Lembong.

    West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil was also scheduled to attend the 2019 WJIS press conference along with the Head of the West Java Provincial Kpw BI Doni P. Joewono starting at 10:50 WIB.

    After that, WJIS 2019 will be filled with Project Consultation, One-on-One Meeting, to Market Sounding, and the event will close at 16:00 WIB.

    WJIS 2019 was attended by approximately 250 participants ranging from domestic and foreign investors, sister province partners, embassies of friendly countries, associations, managers of industrial estates, investment agencies, as well as other relevant agencies.

    With the theme 'Accelerating Infrastructure Development through Innovative Investment', WJIS 2019 is expected to be able to optimize communication with investors, open market access, improve performance and competitiveness, as well as create investment positive perception of investment in West Java.
