Atalia Ridwan Kamil Inaugurates Kamarang, a Free Canteen for Duafa and Travelers

BANDUNG CITY- Chairman of the West Java Province PKK TP who is also the Chairperson of West Java Moves Atalia Praratya Ridwan Kamil officially opened the Alms Room of Kamarang (Kantin Mesra Rangganis) at the Humanist Shelter House (Rangganis) Jl. Wastukencana No. 73 City of Bandung, Sunday (6/10/19).

The alms canteen was born at the initiation of Rangganis donors. After the inauguration of Atalia, the canteen will operate every day at 12 noon or lunch hour with 100 servings of food per day for patients and patients' families in Rangganis, the poor, as well as travelers for free.

"So this is open to the public and free of charge as long as they are unable, lack food, are on their way or so on. For the initial phase 100 servings are provided but in the future it will continue to be added," Atalia said.

The Rangganis itself is a vacation home for patients who lack the funds to rent a room or house when conducting an examination at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) or other hospitals in the city of Bandung.

Previously, the program of giving free food to the poor was also carried out once a week on Friday since Rangganis was inaugurated by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil on August 20.

Next, Atalia is sure that there will be more donors who want to participate in the Alms Canteen program, including through the West Java Mobile which has become one of the trusted platforms for giving alms.

"Because this is really true of us, by us, for us to be hopeful that more and more people will be moved to help others," said Atalia.

"So far, as I understand it, there are a lot of good people who are confused about where to donate their infaq zakat. We will be very open to accept it and God willing, everything will be transparent, too," he added.

Head of the West Java Province Social Office Dodo Suhendar who also attended the inauguration of Kamarang in Rangganis said that this program could be one of the collaborations of various parties to solve social problems in West Java.

"With this, hopefully the social problems in West Java can be resolved. Any problem needs innovation and collaboration, in this case it would have been answered how we innovate with the presence of the Humanist Shelter and the Alms Canteen," Dodo said.

"Then there is collaboration between governments and social activists through West Java Moves, there are entrepreneurs, there are also academics and others. So this is a good collaboration," Dodo concluded.
