BANDUNG - West Java Central Statistics Agency (BPS) said that in September 2019 the West Java Joint CPI covering 7 cities, namely Bogor City, Sukabumi City, Bandung City, Cirebon City, Bekasi City, Depok City and Tasikmalaya City experienced a decrease in index.
"CPI from 137.37 in August 2019 to 137.04 in September 2019; thus there was deflation of 0.24 percent, "said the Head of West Java BPS, Tuesday (1/10).
The year to date calendar year inflation rate (January - September 2019) was 2.70 percent and the year on year inflation rate (September 2019 to September 2018) was 3.85 percent.
Of the seven expenditure groups that experienced inflation namely the Food, Beverage, Cigarettes & Tobacco Group by 0.30 percent, the Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas & Fuel Group by 0.15 percent, the Clothing Group by 0.85 percent, the Health Group by 0.40 percent, the Education, Recreation & Sports Group by 0.70 percent, and the Transportation, Communication & Delivery Group by 0.02 percent. While those experiencing deflation were the Foodstuffs Group of 2.07 percent.
Of the seven CPI monitoring cities in West Java in September 2019 all experienced deflation, namely Bogor City by 0.48 percent, Sukabumi City by 0.18 percent, Bandung City by 0.28 percent, Cirebon City by 0.24 percent, Bekasi City by 0 , 06 percent, Depok City by 0.25 percent, and Tasikmalaya City by 0.38 percent.
