BANDUNG - The Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) is currently developing several applied technologies that can be used in everyday life. The Head of LIPI's Electronics and Telecommunications Research Center, Budi Prawara said the research in the field of electronics and telecommunications was to assist activities in various fields such as maritime, agriculture, food and others.
"The point is to help activities related to the field of maritime, agriculture, food products, so that it is easier and can be measured with precision" he said, Monday (09/30/2019).
According to him, some of the research being developed include
"This sensor system is able to detect heavy metals directly from industrial waste," he said.
Other research according to Budi in the field of Magnetic Based Integrated Light Sensor for Heavy Metal Detection. "This sensor system is able to detect heavy metals directly from industrial waste," he said. Of the several types of sensors, light-based sensors have a high sensitivity and electivity and are immune to interference.
Another research conducted by LIPI is Magnetic Separtor which is a system of detecting and capturing impurities in the production of food and beverages.
"At present the need for magnetic separators is still imported from abroad, which is what drives us to conduct research that produces magnetic separators that are much cheaper, rechargeable, and with designs that can match market needs," concluded Budi. (Even)
