BANDUNG (28/9/2019) - Located at the Center for Education and Training (Pusdiklat) Ir. H. Djuanda PT KAI, Jalan Laswi No. 23 Bandung, KAI commemorates its 74th Birthday. With the tagline "KAI Unite for Advanced Indonesia", KAI is determined to maintain the internal integrity of employees and all stakeholders while uniting the vision of shared ideals of developing Indonesia.
"It is indeed not easy to make it happen, but with the synergy of various parties for a noble mission, KAI is confident that Indonesia Forward will be realized," said KAI Managing Director Edi Sukmoro.
In the past one year, KAI has incised various service innovations for the community. Local train features, reductions, cancellations, and schedule changes in the KAI Access application, the launch of Luxury Train 2, the addition of new frequencies and routes for Passenger and Freight Trains, and the development of stations.
During the January-August 2019 period, KAI delivered 283.5 million passengers, up 1% from the same period in 2018, which was 279.6 million passengers. As for the transportation of goods KAI has transported 30.9 million tons of goods, up 5% from the same period in 2018 which is 29.5 million tons of goods.
In the series of commemorative activities of the 74th anniversary of the KA, KAI launched the Argo Parahyangan Excellence KA. The difference from the Argo Parahyangan Excellence Train from the regular Argo Parahyangan Train, is that the travel time is shorter than the previous 3.5 hours, now with Argo Parahyangan Excellence Train it is only 2 hours 50 minutes.
The Argo Parahyangan Excellence KA runs from 1 October 2019 at a rate of Rp150,000 for the Executive class and Rp110,000 for the Premium class.
"The presence of this train is a birthday gift from KAI for people who want to go to the city of Bandung and Jakarta with a travel time under 3 hours. With the existence of 2 Argo Parahyangan Excellent Train, KAI operates 34 Argo Parahyangan Train Schedule for the convenience of customers," said Eddie
In addition, KAI also launched a private commercial train called the Special Train. One series of Special Trains consists of 2 (two) KRD-type trains with a total capacity of 40 passengers. Special Train Schedules can be adjusted to the wishes of customers because they are not coupled with regular train trips.
For the initial stage, the train managed by KAI's subsidiary, PT KA Wisata, can be ordered for medium distances such as Jakarta-Cirebon, Jakarta-Bandung, and Jakarta-Semarang. This special train has facilities such as meeting rooms, lounges, mini bars, karaoke, prayer rooms, and toilets.
"Special Trains are suitable for business, reunions, events, even family recreation and so on," said Edi.
On the same occasion, KAI also signed various memoranda of understanding (MoU) with several agencies. These agencies include BUMN (Perum Perumnas and PT Pindad Enjiniring Indonesia, LEN), the government (Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bali Provincial Government, Nganjuk Regency and Tegal City Government), regional development companies (PT Sarana Pembangunan Central Java, PT Mitra Abadi Utama, and PT Griya Sukamanah Permai), technology companies (Alstom, Gojek, Grab, Linkaja), to other agencies such as BJB Bank, Banten BPN, BNPB, and B4T.
"The MoU was carried out related to the development of stations, improvement of safety, new services of freight trains, development of human resources, development of facilities, and others," said Edi.
At the summit, KAI officially launched KAI's new innovations such as Rail Express services to facilitate the delivery of goods using trains, train generator monitor monitoring applications to improve the reliability of facilities, online presence applications to improve KAI HR performance, Friends Reska Chatbot application from PT Reska Multi Usaha, and various other innovations.
