BANDUNG CITY- West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said industry 4.0 was a challenge for architects. Therefore, Emil - greeting Ridwan Kamil - asked architects to adapt to the needs of the dynamically changing times.
"The challenges of the times are even greater, if I leave a message about not being passive in a dynamic era. We have to be very active architects, we can't wait but we are also proactive, ”Emil said while attending the 60th anniversary of the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI) at Dago Tea House, Bandung City, Tuesday (9/17/19) night.
"And new dimensions must also be adaptable. There is an issue 4.0, there is an inclusive issue, I think that Architecture Without Walls is one of the spirit that the architects must not only serve those who can afford it but also those who are struggling, "he continued.
As someone who has an architectural background, Emil invites Indonesian architects to have a spirit of inclusiveness. That way, he said, architects can answer the challenges of the times in the future. Because, a profession that will survive in the future is a profession that is problem solving.
"One thing that comes to my mind, the architect profession is a profession that has a long life. "In the industrial revolution 4.0, where routine jobs will be replaced by robots, by internet counts, by artificial intelligence, by the Internet of Think (IOT), and their equivalent," he said.
"The survivors of the big revolution in 4.0 are professions that have a problem solving profession," Emil said ending.
