    120 Members of the West Java Parliament 2019-2024 Officially Inaugurated

    BANDUNG CITY - West Java (West Java) Governor Ridwan Kamil together with Deputy Governor Uu Ruzhanul Ulum attended the Plenary Session Meeting / Promise of Members of the Regional Representative Council (DPRD) of West Java Province 2019-2024, at Merdeka Building, Kota Bandung, Monday (2/9/19).

    A total of 120 Members of the West Java Province DPRD were officially installed through the Minister of Home Affairs Decree Number: 161.32-3812 of 2019 concerning the Inauguration of the Appointment of Members of the West Java Province DPRD Term 2019-2024, set in Jakarta, August 28, 2019.

    The inauguration was carried out directly by the Deputy Chairman of the Bandung High Court. Previously, the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia had also issued Minister of Home Affairs Decree Number: 161.32-3811 of 2019 concerning the Inauguration of the Dismissal of Members of the West Java Provincial Parliament for the 2014-2019 Term.

    This oath / pledge constitutes the mandate of Article 156 of Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government. In his remarks, Ridwan Kamil also congratulated the newly appointed member of the West Java DPRD, and thanked the previous West Java DPRD members for their dedication in development in West Java.

    "I personally and the Regional Government of the Province of West Java congratulate on the appointment of ladies and gentlemen as members of the Regional Parliament of West Java Province Term of 2019-2024. Congratulations to carry out the mandate honestly, fairly, and with integrity, and may God always protect us all at the time carry out the task, "said Emil - greeting Ridwan Kamil.

    At the event, Emil also expressed his appreciation to the TNI from Kodam III / Siliwangi and the West Java Regional Police who had sought to maintain security conduciveness in the West Java region during the 2019 Election process.

    In addition, Emil also expressed his pride for the achievement of West Java voter turnout which reached 82 percent, or above the national target figure.

    Emil hopes that the members of the West Java Legislative Council for the 2019-2024 term can interpret the election process as a sacred effort to uphold the people's sovereignty.

    "Because the people have entrusted their votes to the ladies and gentlemen (members of the West Java Regional Parliament). Not only to be represented, but to fight for their aspirations," Emil stressed.

    "This is a very noble task, because from now on, ladies and gentlemen assume a great responsibility, where someday we will all be held accountable for all things that are entrusted to us," he added.

    Based on the decision of the West Java Provincial KPU through Decree Number: 88 / PL.01.8 Kpt / 32 / Prov / VIII / 2019 issued in the West Java Provincial KPU Plenary Meeting on August 13, 2019, the members of the West Java DPRD who were appointed were 120 people consisting of the Party The Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) 25 seats, the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) 21 seats, the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) 20 seats, the Group of Work Groups (Golkar) 16 seats, the National Awakening Party (PKB) 12 seats.

    Then the 11-seat Democratic Party, the National Mandate Party (PAN) seven seats, the National Democratic Party (Nasdem) four seats, the United Development Party (PPP) three seats, and the Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo) one seat.

    While based on gender, the new West Java Provincial Parliament consists of 97 men and 23 women.

    The leadership based on the most seats won in the West Java Provincial Parliament was given to the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) as the Provisional Chair and Vice Chair of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).

    Focus on Synergy
    After the inauguration, Emil said that the West Java Provincial Government continues to maintain synergy with the West Java Provincial Parliament. According to him, the key to realizing Jabar Champion Born Inner is collaboration and innovation.

    "God willing, we show the focus of West Java is synergy because the key is togetherness," Emil said.

    "We will win if we collaborate and innovate. The key is only two. We are compact with the new (West Java DPRD) council, we are eager to build West Java to prioritize the interests of the people over the interests of the groups. Insyaallah, West Java, the Champion Born Inner will be present," he said.

    Emil admitted that at this time change had begun to be felt in West Java under his leadership with Deputy Governor Uu Ruzhanul Ulum. Even though it doesn't feel perfect, Emil said, the change continues to proceed.

    "Every day I also post progresses, which indicate that slowly it has begun to feel changes that are felt by the community. It is not perfect but it is proceeding," concluded Emil.
