BANDUNG REGENCY - Harum Citarum Program is considered to have experienced a lot of progress. According to Maritime Coordinating Minister Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, progress in the national program was quite significant. This was revealed by Luhut when reviewing several locations in the Bandung Regency Citarum Watershed, Wednesday (08/28/2019).
"I appreciate it, there have been many significant advances including cleaning up garbage now that it has increasingly shrunk, then maintenance of oxbows is also quite good," he said at Oxbow Bojongsoang, Bandung Regency.
Although Luhut acknowledged that the journey to clean up the Citarum was still far from the expected results, there were developments towards a better direction, including increasing public awareness and participation in cleaning the Citarum.
"The awareness of the community not to throw garbage into the river I have seen has increased even though it is still one or two that have not been aware of it. Then community participation has also increased as there are residents who donated their land in the Citarum watershed to be used as a park, later the government will build the park" said Luhut
