BANDUNG -- West Java Governor, Ridwan Kamil said that village expansion becomes one of the solutions to the proposed second-level DOB (New Autonomous Region) in West Java by the central government.
According to Emil -- greeting of Ridwan Kamil -- the village expansion can make the effective and efficient public services. Moreover, the attention of West Java Provincial Government (Pemdaprov) is focused on village development.
"People definitely want a smooth road, manage their KTP quickly, they don't really care what the area's name is, the important thing is to touch the people directly, so I think the solution is the village expansion," Emil said in the Ess-Dua Discussion Club (EDC) at Gedung Sate, Bandung, Monday (19/8/19).
"If possible, there are 10 thousand villages in West Java. What happens? One village can get more assistance and the villagers will feel greater benefits too," he continued.
Emil explained, the reason of DOB moratorium by the Ministry of Home Affairs was because the majority of the regions in second level which is expanded have little effect on people's welfare. According to him, West Java which has a population of nearly 50 million people and only has 27 second-level regions, needs to be expanded. Ideally, West Java has 40 second-level regions.
"Have a look at the East Java General Allocation Fund (DAU), it is bigger than us about 15 trillion rupiahs, even though the population is less than West Java. However, the second-level region of East Java is more, because the DAU is directly proportional to the number of non-residents," Emil said.
For this reason, Emil continued, there must be one fundamental which must be fought for, that is fiscal justice. "DAU should be directly proportional to the population," he said.
From the ESD program which was packaged in a talkshow presented all echelon two officials of the West Java Provincial Government, including Regional Assistants, Heads of Service and Heads of Bureau.
According to the Head of Government and Cooperation Bureau of West Java Provincial Government, Dani Ramdan, the event aims to discuss hot issues in West Java, find solutions, and equalize perceptions.
"This event was born out of spontaneity in the second echelon WA group and responded positively, so the idea of ??the event was named Echelon Dua Discussion Club," Dani said.
ESD itself will be routinely held by presenting different speakers and themes. According to Dani, another goal is to realize the vision of 'Jabar Juara Lahir Batin'.
"Tahu bulat lima ratusan, rasanya gurih digoreng dadakan, Jabar juara akan terwujudkan, karena eselon duanya sigap menjawab tantangan," he concluded.
