BANDUNG-Citarum Bestari program as the priority program of the Government of West Java province in dealing with pollution of the Citarum River will be imitated by Bengkulu provincial government to overcome the worrying pollution in Bengkulu.
This is revealed in the Bengkulu DPRD of Commission III with Commission IV DPRD of West Java province, at the Parliament Building West Java, Jalan Diponegoro, Bandung, Thursday (7/4).
Commission III of the DPRD Bengkulu as many as 10 people led by the Vice Chairman of Commission III Herizal Apriansyah, S. Sos, received by the Vice Chairman of Commission IV DPRD of West Java Province, Drs.H. Daddy Rohanady and Secretary of Commission IV Nia Purnakania, SH, Mkn.
"We're in Bengkulu Province is currently preoccupied with regard to pollution of the watershed. In our province rivers flow on average been polluted by waste coal plant, so that the water based on the results of the study are included heavy pollution, improperly used, when the river water used as a source of water taps. We decided to learn how West Java in dealing with pollution of the river to be used as material for us in overcoming the river water pollution,” said Vice Chairman of Commission III of the DPRD Bengkulu, Herizal Apriansyah in the meeting.
Herizal Apriansyah said, so far it boasted that the river was clean, but the program was not set up, and the budget was not budgeted.
"Budget of West Java provincial government in handling the river is quite large. The programs are quite specific. This is as a material for the handling of the river in Bengkulu,” he said.
Vice Chairman of Commission IV DPRD of West Java Province, Drs.H. Daddy Rohanady explained, in West Java Province, there is the dirtiest rivers in the world, namely Citarum River. In handling of these rivers, the Government of West Java province has featured program initiated by West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan namely Citarum Bestari program that have been done gradually. From kilometres 0 to kilometre 20 in the first year, that both shifted from kilometre 21 to 40 and so on.
“This program is a multi-stakeholder action. In the 2014 budget of approximately Rp 56 billion, in 2015 to over one hundred billion of the provincial budget. Specific indeed in the handling of this Citarum. Budget poured since 2011 no less than Rp 1 trillion,” he said.
In handling the Citrus river, Daddy said it is actually below the Central River Region or authority under Kemenpupera Centre. However, the handling of Citarum by central poured Rp 1 trillion, the result is not perceived by the public, because it was still smelly and dirty. Then Governor initiated the Citarum Bestari Programme.
Secretary of Commission IV DPRD of West Java, Nia Purnakania added, many programs that have been done related handlers Citarum river, including the Movement of Citarum Bestari. Later in the West Java province board there is also a program for the prevention of Citarum, specifically for river basins, namely Eco-village program.
"This program is to prevent, rather to provide guidance to the public awareness about the river area to not throw trash or dirt and so forth to the river," he said.
The results from Eco-village program was there are studies which will be distributed to the relevant SKPD to be followed up, for example in the handling of these rivers need a motor trash, garbage processing machines need and Ian forth.
