Preventing Repeated Leakage, Ridwan Kamil Asks for ONWJ Block Pipeline to be Reviewed

BANDUNG - The Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil confessed to having asked Pertamina EP and the expert team to conduct a study on the Pertamina Hulu Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ) network pipeline so that the oil spill case in Cemarajaya Village, Cibuaya Sub-district, Karawang Regency would not be repeated.

Ridwan Kamil said that the demand was conveyed by his party when he visited the location of the oil spill in Karawang last week. "It has been requested in Karawang. So, this is a question many people are asking, whether it is caused by a technical problem which means a caution for other pipes or indeed due to disaster even though the pipeline technology is good. It might be a disaster," he said in Gedung Sate, Bandung, Wednesday (14/8/2019).

However, according to him, this matter is a long-term study because the most important thing at this time is that Pertamina completes the oil spill in the region as soon as possible. "The conclusions are not too important. The important thing is that finishing this oil spill as soon as possible. Every my visit, the relief well of the emergency well to cover it, moved around 30 percent last week. It should have moved faster now," he said.

His party confessed that every time they continue to monitor the progress of the completion of the oil spill. He coordinated with The Regent of Karawang and Bekasi. "I will monitor the progress as needed, but through coordination with the regents," he said. (Pun)
