BEKASI -- Chairman of West Java Family Empowerment and Welfare (PKK) Building Team, Atalia Praratya Kamil stated, the number of KB (Family Planning) Villages in West Java continues to increase. At present, she said, there are approximately 2,000 KB villages spread throughout the regencies/cities in West Java.

"We have a lot of population, so how can we control the population. This is where the PKK plays an important role. So, I invite all cadres as the front guard to participate in this," Atalia said after visiting KB Kemuning Village in Kalibaru Urban Village, Bekasi, Wednesday (8/14/19).

According to Atalia, PKK administrator must be actively involved in running the KB Village program. The goal is rate of population growth can braked, resilience and family empowerment can be realized, and other problems in the family can be resolved.

"The family planning program is planned to reduce the population explosion in the coming years in accordance with its function, namely counseling, data collection and mobilization. PKK can start from the smallest family unit to determine the success of this program," he said.

"The quality of people's lives can be done by planning their family life. How marriage, birth spacing between children can make quality so their children are noticed," he added.

The KB program itself is a national program which is also a concern of West Java Provincial Government (Pemdaprov).

Head of West Java National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), Sukaryo Teguh Santoso said, KB Village is an area unit equivalent to village or hamlet which there is integration between population programs, family planning, family development, and other sector programs in order to improve quality of life and people in the region.

" KB Village is our common village to improve family welfare and well-being. So, if in this village there are 183 families, it must be guaranteed that in all families there must perform eight family functions properly," Teguh said.

"Hopefully the benefits of KB Village can be felt by all people there, so it can reduce the population growth rate," he concluded.
