    The 'Heart' Program of the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) Produces Household Food Materials

    BANDUNG - The Head of West Java PKK Moving Team, Atalia Praratya Kamil said that the use of theyard and fallow land by planting home plants and medicinal plants are the effort to diversify foodstuffs.

    "Family food needs are already in the yard, the carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals," said Atalia when opening the Menu Creation Contest/ Local Food Festival B2SA (Diverse, Balanced Nutritious, and Safe) in 2019 at Gedung Sate, Bandung, Tuesday (8/13/19).

    "We have a program called 'The Heart of the PKK', that is a beautiful, organized, beautiful and comfortable yard. In this program, the yards are maximized in such a way as to produce food for the household. I also left a message to the Heads of Regecy/City PKK who are also the Head of Forikan (Forum for Increasing Fish Consumption)," she added.

    According to Atalia, various types of local food have good nutritional content to improve public health. In addition, local food is easy to obtain while supporting community food independence.

    "By this competition, I hope the community can be creative to create and develop various processed and recipe that B2SA, and can be applied as a daily family menu," she said.

    "In the future, the West Java people must be able to become healthy and intelligent people starting from the dining table in their own homes," she added.

    In line with Atalia, the Head of West Java Food Security and Animal Husbandry Department, Koesmayadi TP stated, the role of mothers as a determinant of daily menu choices in the family is able to implement the implementation of various processed foods for food consumption in accordance with local potential in the area.

    "Every individual, especially housewives, are certainly responsible for determining and providing a healthy family menu. This is to provide economic value and added value for the processing and sustainable use of local food products," said Koesmayadi.

    General Champion of the Menu Creation Contest/ Local Food Festival B2SA 2019 will represent West Javain the National Local Food Festival B2SA 2019 that will be held at the peak of the World Food Day (HPS) in National-Level, on 10 October 2019, in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.
