BANDUNG CITY – The Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil appealed that the distribution of meat does not use plastics. As a replacement, meat can be packaged with bamboo baskets or teak leaves to be sustainable living.
Besides, Emil –Ridwan Kamil’s nickname- said, so far the animal health problem has not been found yet. It means, he said, Eid al-Adha 1440 Hijri / 2019 went well.
“Animal health is also maintained across the provinces, and I appeal, if possible, the distribution of meat does not use plastic bags,” Emil said while reviewing the slaughter of sacrificial animals at the West Java Grand Mosque, Bandung, Sunday (11/8/19).
West Java Grand Mosque will slaughter 10 cows and 12 goats. Two of the cows were entrusted by Emil and President Joko Widodo. The weight of Emil’s cow weighing 652 kilogram, while the weight of Jokowi’s cow weighing 950 kilogram. Later, the meat will be packaged with bamboo baskets.
“It indicates that we want to share at the moment of Eid Al-Adha to the community of West Java. Not only distributed in Mustahik in the are around the mosque, or Bandung city, but also to remote areas,” said Emil
Emil also hopes that Eid al-Adha can be a momentum to increase piety and the spirit of Qurbani. Besides, based on the report that is received, the number of people who give sacrificial animal in West Java continue to increase every year. It indicates that the welfare of the people in West Java increased.
