BANDUNG - Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) said that the economy of West Java based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) on the basis of current prices in the second quarter of 2019 has reached Rp. 537,66 trillion, and on the basis of 2010 constant prices, it reached Rp375.33 trillion.
The economy of West Java in quarter II-2019 compared to quarter II-2018 grew by 5.68 percent (y-on-y). It rose if it is compared to the achievements in quarter II-2018 which was 5.61 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Health Services and Social Activities Business Field by 13.48 percent.
"In terms of expenditure, it has been achieved by the Component of Exports of Goods and Services which grew by 8.04 percent," said the head of West Java BPS, Doddy Herlando.
The economy of West Java in the second quarter of 2019 compared to the previous quarter rose by 3.86 percent (q-to-q). For production, the highest growth was achieved by the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Business Fields by 20.71 percent. Meanwhile, forexpenditure, the increase occurred in the Government Consumption Expenditure Component; Gross Fixed Capital Formation; and Exports of Goods and Services.
Source of Growth (SOG) in terms of (y-o-y) from the business field side that contributed the greatest growth is the Large and Retail Industry Trade Business Field; Car and Motorcycle Repair which is 1.48 percent. In terms of expenditure, the biggest positive contribution to the growth is the Household Consumption Expenditure component by 3.10 percent.
The economy of West Java in the first semester of 2019 (c-to-c) grew by 5.54 percent. For production, the highest growth is achieved by the Information and Communication Business Field by 11.18 percent.
