    744 IPDN Young Civil Service Expected To Be Responsive, Inspiring, and Initiative


    SUMEDANG REGENCY - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil attended the inauguration ceremony of 744 young civil service candidates who graduated from the Institute of Public Administration (IPDN) in the IPDN Campus, Jatinangor, Sumedang Regency, Tuesday (6/8/19).

    The inauguration was carried out directly by the Vice President of RI, Jusuf Kalla (JK), who also acted as ceremonial inspector. While the Regent of Bantaeng, South Sulawesi, Ilham Syah Azikin, were the commander of the ceremony.

    In his direction, the Vice President asked 744 young civil servants to carry out their duties properly. In addition, they are also required to be able to serve the society.

    "Besides do the duties, you are a unifying instrument of the nation, you must become a democratic regional leader and listen to the voice of the people, and serve thes ociety as a whole. Later, you will become a regional and society leader," said Jusuf Kalla.

    The Vice President also hoped that these young civil servants could contribute directly to the five main government agendas that are the focus of national development in the next five years.

    The meaning is, first, the government will continue to run infrastructure development that continues to be improved and synergized. Second, the development of Human Resources (HR) to advance the nation in order to compete with other nations.

    Third, increasing investment and the economy of the society at the regional and national levels. Fourth, bureaucratic reform and structural reform of government.

    Fifth, the structuring of the National Budget (APBN) and the Regional  Budget (APBD) focus on development targets, so it will be beneficial for the progress of society and the nation.

    "Because all of that (the main agenda of development) requires a good, fast bureaucracy and a bureaucracy that encourages development itself," said Jusuf Kalla.

    "As a civil service, you have a good obligation. You have an obligation to serve the community as a whole, quickly, simply, cheaply, and thoroughly, as well as satisfying, and the important thing is fair for all," he concluded.

    The young civil servants who are appointed returned to their respective local governments. The Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) of the RI, Tjahyo Kumolo said, 744 young civil servants consisted of 479 boys and 265 girls. They represent all provinces and districts/cities in Indonesia.

    "Those who have followed four years of education with a system of teaching, training and care will be placed throughout the Republic of Indonesia," Tjahyo said.

    Later, all these young civil service officers will be given assignments with a cross-provincial system, especially in the border, inland and outer islands with a minimum service period of two years.

    They were assigned to carry out Nawa Cita and present a professional government, close to the society, serving the society with a sincere heart, and full of dedication on the basis of responsibility.

    Responsive, Inspiring & Initiative
    Ridwan Kamil (RK) hopes on 744 young civil servants who graduated from the IPDN Batch XXVI 2019. As a new generation, they are expected to not be too rigid in working so they can adjust to the dynamics of work in the field.

    "They are a new generation, so bureaucratic reforms are dynamic governance. So, don't be too rigid with guidelines that are sometimes less fast with dynamics on the field," RK said.

    "So we need civil service that is responsive, inspiring, and can also initiatives," he continued.

    Even by spreading these young civil servants throughout the Republic of Indonesia, RK added, it could become a unifying tool for the nation. So, there will be no more regional egos from IPDN graduates.

    "So, the concept of this civil service will be distributed not to the area of ??origin but to the entire territory of the Republic of Indonesia and hopefully because of that the strengthening of the unity of Indonesia will strengthen," said RK.

    "So that there are no more regional egos but more towards the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI)," he concluded.
