West Java Deputy Governor Calling Priangan Regional Mining Entrepreneurs

TASIKMALAYA CITY- West Java Deputy Governor Uu Ruzhanul Ulum summoned 70 mining entrepreneurs holding Mining Operation Production (IUP-OP) licenses throughout the Priangan region. The meeting which took place in the Old Hall of the Regency Government of Tasikmalaya, Tasikmalaya City, Saturday (3/8/19), aims to evaluate mining activities that damage the environment.

Based on reports received by the West Java Provincial Government, there are mining entrepreneurs who violate regulations. Therefore, Uu emphasized that his party would not hesitate to revoke the business license if it was not evaluated.

"Don't just have a permit, you can do anything you want, such as exceeding the limit of activities that were from 5 hectares to 7 hectares. We always supervise and will act decisively when violating the rules," he said.

In the meeting which was attended by mining entrepreneurs with metal, non-metal and rock business types, Uu requested that mining entrepreneurs pay attention to environmental aspects. He also asked the public to participate in monitoring and reporting if there are mining activities that are in violation of regulations.

"Many people are asking how far the Provincial Government is concerned about environmental damage by mining entrepreneurs who are still stubborn. Hopefully this meeting will be able to answer what people are asking," he said.

In addition, Uu ensured that he would call and take action against mining entrepreneurs without permits. He also stated that his party had pocketed illegal mining entrepreneurs.

"We will also continue to put in order to be assisted by the Police, TNI and Satpol PP," he concluded.
