BANDUNG (7/31/2019) There is no doubt in Bio Farma's progress in international community. With market penetration in more than 140 countries, Bio Farma has become one of around 30 vaccine producers that have obtained PQ WHO, even in the past of June 2018, Bio Farma received a certificate of participation, to provide Monovalent Oral Polio Vaccine Type 2 ( mOPV2), after CDC Atlanta and Sweden, with its first export to Angola as much as 3.4 million doses. Even among member countries of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC), Bio Farma is a reference for the development of biotechnology and vaccines through the appointment as a center of Excellence.
The transformation of Bio Farma in the life science business on the global scene must follow the principles of the Deklarasi Lima UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) which requires the Industry to apply the principle of prosperity distribution (inclusive), and carry out operations that are environmentally friendly (sustainable), by carrying out operations that are environmentally friendly, so as to avoid excessive use of natural resources and to avoid the negative impacts of industrial activities.
For Bio Farma itself, efforts to equalize prosperity have been carried out through a CSR program, which is intended for people in the ring 1 of Bio Farma, by helping the community through expertise in biotechnology that Bio Farma has, such as Koi Mizumi fish cultivation in Sukabumi, garut sheep cultivation and the process of implementing the registration of Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu Geoparak for the registration process to UNESCO.
This was conveyed in a speech by the Director of Bio Farma, M. Rahman Roestan, which was read by the Director of Human Resources and General Bio Farma, Disril Revolin Putra, in the opening ceremony of the National Sustainable Business Seminar with the theme of 'Mainstreaming The Environment and Social Responsibility', on 31 July 2019, in order to welcome the 129th Bio Farma Anniversary in August 2019.
"We apply our expertise in biotechnology sector, for people who are in the environment of Bio Farma, especially those in ring 1. The assistance that Bio Farma provides is merely adjusted to the potential in the area, which can improve the standard of living so that people have independence both economically and socially. " Said Disril.
Disril added, Bio Farma continuously strives to improve competitiveness at the global level by involving stakeholders to increase prosperity equity, so that Bio Farma together with the surrounding communities participate and run environmentally friendly operations, and what has been done by Bio Farma is one of our commitment implementation. SOEs are present to contribute to the country to achieve Sustainable Development Goal's 2030 in Indonesia.
In the seminar that invites figures who are active in this environment aims to share experience and knowledge in managing sustainability of Bio Farma business, by inviting industry practitioners, academics and students.
