BANDUNG CITY - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil stated, Mount Tangkuban Parahu Natural Tourism Park (TWA) will be reopened to the public on Thursday (1/8/19). It is decided after obtaining security and safety guarantees for visitors.
"On Thursday morning, Mount Tangkuban Parahu Natural Tourism Park can be opened to the public," he said after holding a coordination meeting with the management, representatives of PVMBG, BPBD, Regent of Subang, Police, TNI and ASITA, in Gedung Sate, Bandung, Tuesday (30 / 7/19).
According to RK - known as Ridwan Kamil -, the manager is ready to improve the evacuation system, such as an installed evacuation route and a complete and spread out information board. He also gave the manager a deadline to complete the matter until Wednesday (7/31).
"It can be opened provided that repairs include evacuation routes through posters or information boards must be made and completed tomorrow and then shown to me, so that visitors can know where to move if there is a similar incident," he said.
RK also asked the manager to create a communication group via smartphone to facilitate the communication. The group consists of members of various parties located within a 5 kilometer radius of Mount Tangkuban Parahu Natural Tourism Park.
"Then there must be a Whatsapp group between the manager and the Regional Leaders Consultative Forum (Muspida) and the Village Head in a 5 kilometer radius so if there is an another incident, don't be like yesterday, many people did not know the truth of viralization in Social Media," he said.
RK said that the decline in the Mount Tangkuban Parahu Natural Tourism Park was not only caused by the eruption, but also other factors such as the price of entrance tickets which were too expensive, especially for foreign tourists who reached Rp300 thousand.
So RK asked the management to discuss immediately the price of admission tickets with the Regent of Subang and the Regent of West Bandung.
"Communication with the Regent of Subang and the Regent of West Bandung District must be carried out more intensively by tourism managers and agencies because the number of visitors is not optimal because the tickets are too expensive, especially the ticket prices for foreign tourists are pegged at Rp. 300 thousand," he said.
To increase the number of tourists, RK promised to organize a number of points in the Mount Tangkuban Parahu Natural Tourism Park to make it more attractive and beautiful. "It's not expensive, it only needs imagination, I'll help later," he concluded.
