SWEDEN – The Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil appealed the society to be vigilant and not to panic about the eruption of Mount Tangkuban Perahu. Emil – that’s the nickname of Ridwan Kamil – said, his party has coordinated with related parties.
“I got news about the situation of Tangkuban Perahu, the local eruption but the smoke begins to feel into Lembang. I have coordinated the BNPD to ask to coordinate with the village, village chief, and sub-districts levels. Safety must be prioritized,” he said in Stockholm, Sweden, Friday (7/26/2019).
Emil also asked tourists and the society not to approach Mount Tangkuban Perahu. Other than that, he also warned the society not to disseminate the information that is still unclear.
“Please be patient and I ask to not panic,” he said.
“Please do not easily share hoax information, find official news sources. Make sure the news is true. Let’s pray, may the eruption not increase and not endanger,” he continued.
A similar appeal was expressed by the deputy regent of West Bandung Hengky Kurniawan. He asked the society around Lembang, West Bandung Regency, to increase their vigilance.
“Even so, don’t panic, follow the instructions of the local officer if at any time must be evacuated,” he said.
