ENGLAND- West Java Provincial Government (Pemdaprov) will collaborate with a British multinational education company focused on vocational education, Pearson, in evaluating Vocational High School (SMK) in West Java.
"So, England has an education system that can be copied in several countries. They use a system called TVET (Technical Vocational Education and Training), "West Java Governor, Ridwan Kamil said after holding a meeting with Pearson education consultants in London, England, Tuesday (07/23/2019).
According to Emil - thus Ridwan Kamil was addressed -, vocational education consultants from Pearson routinely held meetings with industry circles. He said that the meeting discussed the latest expertise issues needed by the industry.
"Drone in England has Vocational High School. "The only one in the world that has a Vocational Drone here," he said.
The situation, said Emil, is different from Vocational High School in Indonesia. According to him, there are many vocational majors that do not pay attention to industrial needs. "Do not let the curriculum not relate with the needs of the industry. This is what we will evaluate. We ask for help for they make a vocational education system," he said.
Emil also said, for the next five months, Pearson will develop a vocational education system that is well implemented in Indonesia. Related, in 2020, pilot SMKs ready to welcome industry 4.0 could be formed.
At present, Emil continued, his party through the West Java Provincial Education Council is asking for any Vocational School that is not relevant to technological developments.
Emil stated, after the education system formula is made, it would ask for teacher knowledge. "We will improve the old school teacher too," he said.
Meanwhile, representing Pearson said, their vocational education system has been implemented in countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam, China and Mexico.
