BANDUNG CITY- West Java Governor, Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, said health was the dominant factor in the success of government's development program. If degree of public health was low, various developments targeted by the government were difficult to realize.

"Health is the dominant factor in the success of development program. No matter how great the government program is if the people's health status is not good or does not increase from year to year. The development program aspired by the government at national level or West Java Province perhaps will not be successful, ”he said while attending the first stone laying of Bhayangkara Sartika Asih Hospital (RS) Bandung on Moch. Toha Street No. 369, Bandung, Monday (7/22/2019).

Therefore, on behalf of West Java Provincial Government (Pemdaprov), Uu thanked the West Java Regional Police for their efforts to help the government especially West Java Provincial Government - in improving health services to the community.

"Our duty, West Java Provincial Government, is helped by the construction of several health infrastructure in West Java. "The number of sick people in West Java is not proportional to the number of beds and hospitals," Uu said.

"So, with the addition of facilities from the hospital, this will ease our burden as a government in West Java," he continued.

Based on the data from Strategic Plan (Renstra) of Indonesian Ministry of Health of 2015-2019, the Bed Ratio (TT) of hospitals in Indonesia with the population is still not ideal. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the ideal ratio of hospitals capacity is 1,000 residents: 1 bed. With a population of more than 260 million people, there are only 245,340 beds. So, there is a shortage of around 20,000 beds.

Head of West Java Regional Police (Kapolda) Irjen Pol. Rudy Sufahriadi hoped that the construction of medical service facilities at Bhayangkara Sartika Asih Hospital in Bandung could improve health services to the community.

"I hope that with this development, our services (Bhayangkara Sartika Asih Hospital) will be better than today," he said.

"Our presence in West Java must be useful for the community, one of them is that to provide health services," he continued.

Bhayangkara Sartika Asih Hospital is one of the best hospitals under the police, and as a reference in various actions. Since it was founded in 1957 as a maternity clinic until now a Type B Hospital, we can see that there are significant developments both in terms of infrastructure and services.

On the same occasion, accompanied by Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, West Java Regional Police Irjen Pol. Rudy Sufahriadi also symbolically laid the first stone for the construction of a special service room, sports facilities building, and rehabilitation of the West Java Police Headquarters assessment center located on Soekarno-Hatta Street, Bandung.
