    Indonesian 'Plumbers' Competed in Bandung

BANDUNG - More than 600 athletes from the Indonesian Water Company (PAM) will compete in VI National PAM Sports Week (Porpamnas) in Bandung City, July 16-18 2019. These 'plumbers' will compete in at least 7 branches sports include table tennis, tennis, chess, volleyball, futsal, badminton and golf as exhibition sports. Sports Minister Imam Nachrowi opened the 2-year event at Sabuga Bandung on Monday (7/15/2019), which was also attended by Deputy Governor of West Java Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, Deputy Mayor of Bandung Yana Mulyana and Bandung Regent Dadang M Naser.

"This is the proud thing, they are plumbers who still have time to exercise in the midst of busy serving the community in providing water," Imam said.

Menurur Imam, what all the Indonesian PAM Unions or Perpamsi do must be followed by other agencies.

"I think this is a very good activity and Perpamsi consistently does it every two years. This is worth emulating. I hope other agencies follow," he said.

Imam hopes that the Porpamnas athletes in the future can compete in a wider arena.

"I ask Perpamsi to hold this later for a wider scope. Can Asean or Asia and even the world. So the world plumbers compete in sports" Imam hoped.

The hosts of VI 2019 Porpamnas are PDAM Tirta Wening, Bandung City and PDAM Tirta Raharja, Bandung Regency. (Even)
