PURWAKARTA REGENCY- 1st Jatiluhur Stand Up Paddle and Kayak Exibition is the first step in structuring the Jatiluhur Reservoir, Purwakarta Regency, as a tourist destination. This was stated by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil while attending the event in the Jatiluhur Reservoir on Sunday (07/14/2019).
"This started the agreement between the West Java Provincial Government and Perum Jasa Tirta II. It's very clean and comfortable, it's just facilitated by the wishes of the tourists, so that West Java can increase tourism potential many times over, "he said.
According to Emil - thus Ridwan Kamil was addressed -, tourism potential in the Jatiluhur Reservoir must get attention. The reason, he said, is that it can boost people's welfare quickly because new jobs arise.
Emil also stated that support from the Central Government, Provincial Governments and District / City Governments could develop the tourism potential of the Jatiluhur Reservoir to the full. As a result, the economic wheel in the region will spin faster.
"From the lowest caretaking parking lot, going up to the stall management class, going up to class again having a restaurant, going up to class again having accommodation then having a small hotel. All there is an economic trajectory of tourism, "he said.
"And if that happens, I'm sure the unemployment index in Purwakarta Regency can go down tremendously," he continued.
On this occasion, Emil mentioned the floating net. According to him, the number of floating nets in the Jatiluhur Reservoir will be regulated. The goal is to keep the local economy spinning and the potential for environmental damage can be reduced.
"For the fish and the lake body it does not mix directly. So as to feed fish and others by a way that keeps fish production fixed, the people's economy is maintained, but reduces the potential for significant environmental damage, "he said.
In order to realize this, said Emil, his party has established cooperation with maritime institutions from Switzerland and ITB related to floating net replacement technology. Later, the technology will be used in all floating cages in West Java nets.
"We are the ones who help what we receive and the solution, it turns out I understand it can be a solution," he said.
