BANYUMAS DISTRICT - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil submitted the Tugu Koperasi Business Zone design to be built in Tasikmalaya City. The project design was submitted at the 2019 Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs award at the 72nd National Cooperative Day in Java Heritage Hotel, Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Central Java Province, Thursday (11/7/19) night.
Emil, Ridwan Kamil's nickname, submitted the design directly to the Chairman of the Indonesian Large Cooperative Communication Forum, Iwan Setiawan. This cooperative business area valued at Rp200 billion is expected to be the new face of Indonesian cooperatives.
In his design, Emil proposed three components in the Tugu Koperasi Business Zone. These three components are cooperative monuments, SME shopping centers and cooperatives, and hotels.
"We propose that there are three recommendations: the task itself, the center of the cooperative SME market in Indonesia, and the interesting thing is that we would dare to make the most luxurious hotel in the city of Tasikmalaya whose capital is large cooperatives," Emil said in his presentation on the design which was also attended by Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs of Republic of Indonesia AAGN Puspayoga.
According to Emil, Tasikmalaya is the birthplace of the Indonesian cooperative spirit. However, Tugu Koperasi as a reminder of the history of the first Cooperative Congress on July 12, 1947, is now abandoned.
"So we formulated how this symbol of cooperative spirit not only made monuments, but made a place that was indeed the face of the Indonesian economy," he said.
Secretary of the Indonesian Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Ruly Indrawan, said that the construction of the Tugu Koperasi Business Zone is part of an effort to increase the dignity, cooperation and cooperation in Indonesia.
"This is the step of structured, systematic and massive cooperative activists," Ruly said.
Ruly appreciated the efforts of the West Java Provincial Government (Pemdaprov) which began this year to encourage all cooperatives in West Java to be digitally based. The initial stage will be 400 cooperatives that are fostered to become digital cooperatives.
"We cannot have cooperatives without digital. Because it will definitely be outdated. This year we have invested 400 cooperatives to go digital," he explained.
This year's National Cooperative Day commemoration takes the theme "Total Cooperative Reformation in the Era of Industrial Revolution 4.0". This theme means the importance of efforts to improve the dignity and dignity of Indonesian cooperatives that are parallel to the development of cooperatives in the world.
On the commemoration of the Cooperative Day, the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs gave awards to the people who were actively involved in enhancing the image and dignity of the cooperative. Award for Achieving Cooperatives is intended to motivate cooperatives in Indonesia to be better over time.
