BANDUNG - West Java Provincial Government (Pemdaprov) and PT Kereta Api Indonesia will reactivate four railway lines on the Bandung Ciwidey Line, Rancaekek Tanjungsari, Banjar Pangandaran Cijulang and Cibatu Garut.
Reactivation of the four railroad lines in West Java is in line with the development of transportation infrastructure in West Java today.
Chairman of the West Java DPRD Special Committee VII Herlas Juniar said, after entering into a draft regulation on amendments to Regional Regulation No. 22 of 2010 concerning the West Java Provincial Spatial Planning for 2009 2029, in addition to reactivating the Rancaekek-Tanjungsari railway line, it was also encouraged Kertajati Airport.
"We will push this trend to Kertajati International Airport even to Cirebon," Herlas told reporters in Bandung.
Herlas said, the reactivation of the 11.5 km Rancaekek-Tanjungsari railway line is planned to operate from 2022-2023 and reactivation of the railroad line is needed to reduce congestion and reduce the level of private vehicle use.
"In addition to breaking down congestion in the Jatinangor area. We will encourage this reactivation to facilitate accessibility to West Java International Airport in Kertajati," he said
Herlas added, reactivation of the Tanjungsari Rancaekek line would also reactivate the two stations, namely Jatinangor and Tanjungsari Stations in addition to the development of the Rancaekek Station.
