BANDUNG CITY- Deputy Governor of West Java Uu Ruzhanul Ulum attended the opening of the 5th Regional Conference (CONFERDA) of the Regional Board of National Workers Union (SPD SPD) of West Java Province, at Alam Permai Hotel, Bandung, Wednesday (10/7 / 2019).
On this occasion, Uu hoped that there would be the best policy that was born while accelerating the goals of the organization. According to him, the Provincial Government (Pemdaprov) of West Java is ready to support what the SPD DPD formulates in the CONFERDA, as long as it is for the benefit of all parties.
"Therefore, the West Java Provincial Government is ready to support the fulfillment of workers' rights, while at the same time encouraging companies to be more competitive and capable, so that they can meet all expectations," he said.
In addition, Uu said that the West Java Provincial Government was initiating the drafting of a Governor's regulation that accommodated services for workers. In the Governor Regulation on the 'Labor Champion' program, for example, later the industry is obliged to build flats in industrial areas.
In addition to residential matters, in the industrial area will be built various other facilities such as places of worship, educational facilities, and health. Other supporting facilities such as transportation services for workers must also get attention.
With the existence of a number of these facilities, said Uu, workers' daily expenses, especially accommodation, can be reduced. "Then the school is also in the industrial center. "The industrial center will be compulsory to make schools, want elementary, junior high, vocational schools, especially if for example the SMK is directly related to the curriculum with industry," he said.
According to Uu, the policy plan reflects on the number of SMK graduates who are unemployed because the technology being studied is not relevant to the demands of the industry today. This condition is exacerbated by a curriculum that is not link-and-match with the reality that occurs in the industry.
"Then basic needs, maybe, can also be given so that workers can be more prosperous," he said.
Uu also stated that the Rebana Triangle Special Economic Zone (KEK) (Cirebon-Patimban-Kertajati), which was being drafted by the West Java Provincial Government, would be a breath of fresh air for industry and laborers. Because, the field of work will spread wide. According to him, the people of West Java will be prioritized to work in various lines in the region.
Chairman of the West Java Province SPN DPD Iyan Sofyan said the 5th CONFERDA was one of the SPN's democratic spaces. In addition to organizational evaluation, the CONFERDA itself will establish a work program and elect a chairman for the next 5 years.
"All ranks of the West Java SPN, thank the Regional Government of West Java Province, for cooperation for five years. Hopefully we can continue to partner," he said.
Therefore, said Iyan, SPN and the Government must continue to strive for various changes in the direction of good employment in West Java. Because, West Java is the largest industrial center in Indonesia. "All challenges are not easy, together we can," he said.
Iyan did not deny that industry 4.0 was a serious challenge. If workers cannot be relevant to the demands of the times, then what will their fate be in the world of work. He also claimed to be ready to succeed the West Java Provincial Government program, namely 'Labor Champion' in the hope that the program could be pro to the lives of workers.
The CONFERDA activities themselves were held on 10-12 July 2019. Also present were 173 delegates from 15 West Java City / Regencies.
