    Hotel Residents During Ramadan Decreased

    BANDUNG - West Java Central Statistics Agency (BPS) stated that Hotel Occupancy Rate (TPK) in West Java in May 2019 reached 36.47 percent, down 12.72 points compared to April 2019 TPK which reached 49.19 percent. Both star and non-star ROR hotels have decreased.

    ROR for star hotels in April 2019 was 38.79 percent, down 14.38 points compared to the April 2019 TPK which reached 53.17 percent. The highest TPK according to the star hotel class in May 2019 was recorded in 5-star hotels at 47.88 percent, while the lowest TPK occurred in 1-star hotels at 33.80 percent.

    The ROR for non-star hotels in May 2019 was 28.26 percent, down 7.64 points compared to April 2019 which was recorded at 35.90 percent. The highest TPK for non-star hotels occurred in hotels with groups of rooms 10-24 by 29.75 percent. Whereas the lowest ROR for non-star hotels at 20.96 percent occurred in hotels with room groups <10.

    The average length of stay of guests at star hotels in May 2019 was recorded at 1.63 days and in non-star hotels for 1.30 days. Foreign guests stay at star hotels on average for 3.54 days and in non-star hotels for 1.69 days, while guests from Indonesia stay an average of 1.55 days in star hotels and 1.30 days in non-star hotels .

    "In Ramadan, the habits like this, ordering hotels to go down, meetings and seminars are also reduced," explained Head of West Java BPS Dodi Herlando in his office.

    On the other hand, the arrival of foreign tourists or guests through Husein Sastranegara Airport in May 2019 as many as 8,052 people experienced a decrease of 45.52 percent compared to April 2019 which recorded 14,779 people.

    Then foreign tourists who came through the Port of Muarajati Cirebon were all crew members of 116 people, up 127.45 percent compared to April 2019 which recorded 51 people
