Deputy Governor Motivates the Caravan of West Java STQN in Pontianak

PONTIANAK - Deputy Governor of West Java Uu Ruzhanul Ulum gave talks to 40 West Java caravans who will compete in the XXV National Tilawatil Quran (STQ) Selection in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. Before the opening, he met the caravans at the inn on Saturday (6/26/2019).

On this occasion, Uu delivered a number of advice to the caravans. The first is straightening intentions. "I ask first to straighten out the intention first. Don't intend to get a trophy, but intend to worship because of Allah," he said.

According to Uu, STQ is a sign of the greatness of religion. Therefore, caravans must have the intention to share Islam. "It is also intended to promote Islam because STQ is a sign of the greatness of religion," he said.

The next advice that Uu said was to strengthen determination by maximizing all abilities and mentality. If this has been fulfilled, he is optimistic that the West Java caravan can penetrate the top three positions in XXV National STQ.

"The two strengthened their determination to be champions and the third maximized Shari'a, the abilities that were issued were also prepared mentally. God willing, as the Governor's target can be the top three," he said.

In addition, Uu also said that the West Java caravans are talented and have high quality. In fact, he was surprised when there was a West Java caravan who memorized 500 hadiths.

"Some of them have memorized 500 hadith, of course I, as a boarding school community, are very happy," he said.

Uu also stated that the West Java Provincial Government (Pemdaprov) would pay attention to the caravans. "I have spoken that attention to participants will be increased," he said.

According to Uu, caravans will be fostered in Islamic boarding schools to prepare for the next STQ with all costs borne by the West Java Provincial Government. This was done in order to realize the vision of West Java's Born Birth Champion.

"We want to have a balance between the budget given to the world of infrastructure and the nature of religion. Because West Java is not a champion of birth, but physically and mentally," he said.

STQN XXV was officially opened by the Minister of Religion Lukman Hakim Saifuddin in the Kapuas Square Park, Pontianak. This time STQN was held in five different venues. The event was held until July 6, 2019 by competing various branches, namely tahfidz 1 and 5 juz and tilawah sons and daughters, tilawah children and adult groups of sons and daughters, tahfidz 10 juz, tahfidz 20 juz, tahfidz 30 juz, interpretation of Arabic, and rote competitions hadith.

The West Java contingent included 100 participants consisting of 40 qori and qoriah, 12 coaches, 10 assistants, and 38 officials.
