BANDUNG CITY- West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil views the creative economy as an important support for labor-intensive and manufacturing industries.
"Bank Indonesia provides input to the West Java Government related to maintaining economic growth. Because the theory is that we only rely on the manufacturing industry, it is too vulnerable to global movements," said West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, met after the 2019 West Java Creative Work, at Paskal Hypersquare, Bandung City, Friday (6/28/19).
According to Emil, Ridwan Kamil's nickname, creative economy has proven to play a large role in the economy of West Java, even nationally. Many West Java creative economy products have been exported to many countries. In 2016 alone, West Java became the largest creative economy exporting province, reaching 33.56 percent of the total national creative economy exports.
To support the creative economy sector, according to him, certainly a leverage is needed. Therefore Emil appreciates the steps taken by Bank Indonesia to provide loans to creative economy SMEs around Rp 2.3 trillion.
"God willing, the combination of BI data and the concept of the provincial government will lift our economy stable," he hoped.
Moreover, said Emil, if combined with the tourism economy, the two sectors that are based on talent and thought which are the gifts of Allah SWT, will be an extraordinary economic power for West Java.
"This will complement the economic strength of West Java, in addition to the manufacturing industry," he said.
