BANDUNG- A number of domestic flights from Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung City will be transferred to West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati, Majalengka Regency, starting from July 1, 2019.
Head of the West Java Transportation Agency, Hery Antasari, said that the decision to move a number of flights was in accordance with the mandate and order of the Minister of Transportation) and this was the deadline to start operating at Kertajati Airport and stop operating at Husein Airport.
"There are about 56 flights from and to 13 cities that were moved, from flight routes to 13 cities that will be moved," said Hey, in the Jabar Punya Informasi (Japri) ceremony at Gedung Sate, Friday (6/21).
According to Hery, if you look at the number of flight routes to be moved from the Husein Sastranegara airport to BIJB Kertajati, there will be around 2,000 passengers who will move.
"Looking at the number of prospective passengers who will depart from BIJB Kertajati, we prepare supporting facilities, especially land transportation, which is ready to deliver passengers to a number of destination cities, such as Bandung, Cirebon, Kuningan, Bekasi and Tasikmalaya.
Hery added, with the transfer of a number of flight routes from Husein Sastranegara Airport to BIJB Kertajati, it would open up opportunities for Hussein Airport to open new routes.
"The flight slot that was moved can be filled with the opening of new routes from Bandar Husein to various regions in West Java such as Pangandaran, Tasikmalaya, Cirebon and Halim," he said. (Parno)
