2020, Target of Hajj Departure from BIJB

BANDUNG CITY - West Java Provincial Government (Pemdaprov) targets 2020 West Java International Airport (Kertajati) to be the place for the pilgrimage to depart. While umrah between August and September 2019.

This was stated by West Java Regional Secretary Iwa Karniwa after Gathering and Coordination with the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of West Java Province in the West Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion (10/6/19).

According to him, in order for the 2020 target to be met beforehand there must be a prior determination from the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. "I have asked in June and he (Head of Regional Office of the West Java Ministry of Religion) has promised that in June the stipulation can be completed," said Iwa.

It is known that the Indonesian Ministry of Religion said that the BIJB could not be used for the departure of the Hajj this year because it was impossible to change the bilateral agreement between the governments of Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.

In addition, there are too many domestic and foreign agencies that need to be involved, so that arrangements cannot be made in a short time.

Based on a meeting with the Ministry of Religion, Iwa said that the hajj embarkation would increasingly be built in Indramayu Regency. It is a major consideration because the Indramayu Regency Government has provided a grant of 8 hectares of land along with the certificate.

"So on this basis, the Ministry of Religion establishes hajj embarkation in Indramayu Regency. "It is around 40 kilometers from Kertajati Airport with a distance of 30 minutes," he said.

As a complete facility at the embarkation in Indramayu, the West Java Provincial Government was asked by the Ministry of Religion to build a mosque for worshipers. This special request was issued because MoRA has limited funds. "This is immediately proposed to the Governor and Parliament, so that the construction of mosques becomes a budget in the 2020 APBD," said Iwa.

In addition to the mosque, the Ministry of Religion also requested assistance to build a fence along the embarkation area. "As well as for the fence throughout the hajj embarkation area planned a grant from the Regional Government of Indramayu Regency," he concluded.
