BANDUNG - The West Java Provincial Government through the Department of Transportation cooperates with a number of agencies and SOEs, one of which is PT. Jasa Raharja provides 354 free homecoming buses for the people of West Java who will celebrate Idul Fitri 1440 Hijri in their hometown.
The Governor of West Java, Mochamad Ridwan Kamil, said that the 354 buses were departed from four regions in West Java, namely from Bandung City, Bekasi City, Sukabumi and Bogor City with the aim of Central Java.
"In addition to using 354 buses, for free trip this time the West Java Provincial Government also uses a series of trains to Surabaya," said the Governor, on the sidelines of the free homecoming release in front of Gedung Sate, Saturday (06/06).
According to the Governor, this free homecoming program with the name "Forever" (Safe and Comfortable) is an effort to reduce travelers who use private vehicles and motorcycle vehicles.
"Hopefully with this free homecoming it can reduce personal expenses, and for residents who will go home for more than 100 Km to avoid using motorbikes, but only use public transportation, such as buses," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the West Java Province Transportation Agency, Hery Antasari, said that the Free Mudik program carried out by the Provincial Government had been carried out since 2015 in the hope that this homecoming would be more orderly and safe on the road.
"For free homecoming this time it provides around 12,843 seats which are divided into 354 buses and 1 train series," he said. (Parno)
